JBC TUTORING CENTER

We are developing a brand new addition to the JBC opportunities: tutoring! Schoolwork can be daunting and sometimes you need a little help, that's why we're here! Tutors set up times they are available and you can choose a slot that fits your schedule. Once you book your first appointment, your tutor can help you register for your next session(s) in advance. If you have any questions please reach out to resa@thejunebugcenter.com

PRIVATE TUTORING

Need some help with school? We've got you! With our JBC tutoring, our tutors will work with students to improve their skills, help them with homework, and clarify classroom material. Private tutoring at this time is geared toward elementary and middle school students. If you are a high school student in need of tutoring, please reach out to us to ensure that we have the ability to assist in your needed subject.

***Once you purchase your tutoring session, you must email the tutor to set up your appointment. Tutoring sessions are one hour only. ***
Any students under the age 16 MUST have an adult present with them during the session, they CANNOT be left at the JBC without a parent/guardian present.
At the end of the session you can book your next session with the tutor.

As a former June Bug student, Amanda is so excited to be returning as a JBC instructor and private tutor. She graduated from Virginia Tech with her Bachelor’s in Theatre Arts and Performance, and since graduation has been fortunate to work as performer for the Walt Disney Company. She most recently completed a year-long contract in Japan, performing for Tokyo Disney Resort. In her off-time, Amanda greatly enjoys mentoring and tutoring students of all ages and abilities.
While in Blacksburg, she spent many years volunteering at Blacksburg Middle School in partnership with the Virginia Tech Women’s Center and the “AWARE” program. She was also able to work as a tutor and service member for the AmeriCorps program at Carroll County Middle School. Amanda looks forward to working with the June Bug Center and the Floyd Arts Community to continue to foster a safe space and learning environment for students of all backgrounds, abilities, and interests.

Meet Amanda!
