    Whether you're looking to gain confidence, be more spontaneous, learn about improv, or simply have fun, this 8-week class is for you. You'll learn hands-on exercises that will encourage you to think on your feet and sharpen your wit. The class is sure to be filled with laughter and positivity. No experience necessary; Ages 18+

  • Acting Out

    Acting Out! is an energetic and expressive theatre class where students dive into acting fundamentals through scene work, games, character exploration, and movement exercises. Young actors learn how to use their voice, body, and imagination to bring stories to life on stage. The class emphasizes confidence, collaboration, and creativity, giving students the tools to perform while also building valuable life skills. Whether your student is brand-new to acting or already loves the spotlight, Acting Out! offers a welcoming space to learn and grow. The Spring 2026 semester will conclude with a production of Finding Alice by Dianne Ffitch, a stage adaptation of the Lewis Carroll Alice in Wonderland stories. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, students enrolling in Acting Out should be comfortable reading a script and practicing line memorization.   • Computer Club

    Held every Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:30, students will work on their own Piper computer for hands-on STEAM education. Each student will use their computer to go on Minecraft missions that will teach them how to build circuits that control LEDs, buzzers, and a variety of sensors.     Cuban Dance with Nilda Guerra 📅 Wednesdays, September 17 – October 29 🕡 6:30–8:30pm 💲 $20 per class, or $140 for all 7 Join internationally acclaimed Cuban choreographer Nilda Guerra for a vibrant 7-week exploration of Cuban dance right here at The June Bug Center. Whether you’re a lifelong lover of Latin dance, a beginner looking to try something new, or simply someone who loves to move, this series will immerse you in the rhythms and culture of Cuba. Throughout the classes, Nilda will guide participants through a variety of Cuban dance and music styles—from the soulful Son and romantic Bolero, to the lively Mambo, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha, and of course, Salsa. More than just steps, you’ll gain an appreciation for the rich cultural traditions that shaped these dances. ✨ Come ready for good fun, great music, and the joy of dance with one of Cuba’s most talented and dynamic instructors. About Nilda Guerra: Nilda Guerra has lived and breathed in that artistic and cultural milieu her entire life, studying at the prestigious Escuela Vocational de Arte and performing in various dance companies in Cuba and on tour abroad, before taking up her true passion, choreography. She fulfilled her dream of creating her own independent dance company in 2001 with the formation of Ballet Rakatan, a multi genre company that features in its productions the complex fusion of all manner of Cuban dance and music. In its 24 years of existence Ballet Rakatan has toured the world, performing to highest acclaim to packed houses in the most prestigious of theaters from City Center on Broadway, to Saddler’s Wells in the West End London, to La Scala in Milan and The Sydney Opera House among many many others. She takes immense pride in being a defender of her cultural heritage through the productions she creates and through the teaching of the complex skills involved in Cuban dance to talented young dancers who desire to follow in her footsteps at a school of dance in Havana sponsored by the company.

  • Jitterbugs

    Get ready to move, groove, and shake things up! Jitterbugs is the ultimate high-energy dance class for young movers who want to explore a wide variety of styles—all in one exciting weekly session. Designed for beginners and budding dancers alike, this class is a whirlwind introduction to dance forms from around the globe and the stage. From the upbeat flair of K-pop and the smooth rhythms of samba, to the expressive flow of lyrical, the bold moves of hip hop, and the high-energy spirit of cheerleading, students will build coordination, confidence, and creativity every step of the way. No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to try new things! Dress Code: Comfortable, athletic clothing is recommended. Sneakers or jazz shoes are ideal for most styles.   • Musical Theatre for Kids

    Held every Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30, Musical Theatre for Kids is designed for theater-loving kids, ages 8-12, to develop their confidence, character, and presentation skills through ensemble performance. Students learn acting, scene study, improvisation, music theory, singing, and dancing, while building self-esteem, teamwork skills, and creative potential. Two performances will wrap up the end of the semester for families to come and see what students have learned! One performance will be on December 4 and the second December 6!     Held every Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:30, students will learn the study of classical music on stringed instruments through hands-on instruction and creative enrichment. This program supports growth and development by instilling a deep appreciation for music and specific skill in performance.     Held every Tuesday from 3:30 to 5:30, students will use Mindstorm's EV3 curriculum to design, build, program, and test robots to do a variety of tasks. The Robotics program will engage students to become independent learners and develop skills in collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.   • Drama Society

    This all-in-one theatre class is perfect for students curious about all aspects of the stage—on and off! Held every Friday from 3:30 to 5:30, this semester-long course introduces students to the fundamentals of theatre while exploring a variety of theatrical genres. Whether you're dreaming of the spotlight or more interested in what happens behind the scenes, there's a place for you here. Students will rotate through lessons in acting, stagehand skills, costume design, stage makeup, set building, and more. This course is designed to be a catch-all for aspiring theatre artists of all interests and experience levels. The semester will culminate in a production of Clue: High School Edition, with performances scheduled for the first weekend of December. Students will have the opportunity to either perform onstage or take on a vital backstage role as part of the crew, experiencing the magic of putting on a full production from every angle.   • Floyd JAM

    Held every Monday from 3:30 to 5:30, Floyd JAM allows students to choose from a list of instruments to learn on: fiddle, guitar, or banjo. All instruments are provided to enrolled students, which is included in the program tuition. Floyd JAM follows the “JAM program model,” which is to provide children with opportunities not only in learning traditional music, but to also perform in small and large groups. At the end of the 12 weeks, parents and families will be invited to come see students perform in one big jam! Please keep any eye on your emails, important information is shared regularly!
