Service Description

This class is designed as the next step between our traditional Lego Club and Robotics. Students will take their building skills to the next level by designing and constructing models that incorporate motors and moving parts into their creations. We’ll explore basic mechanical concepts, problem-solving strategies, and introductory engineering principles — all through hands-on building challenges. Students will experiment, test, revise, and refine their designs as they learn how motion and structure work together. If your student loved Lego Club, they’ll love this exciting next step into the world of moving machines and mechanical design. Camp Schedule: Each camp runs for one week and meets 3 hours per day. Snack Break: There is a 20-minute snack break at the halfway point each day. Snacks are generously provided by Feeding Southwest Virginia. Because of this partnership, options are limited—students with dietary restrictions are encouraged to bring their own snack if needed. Pick-Up Policy: A parent or approved pickup person must come inside to pick up their student. Alternate arrangements must be made in advance with the program coordinator and require a signed note. Stay Hydrated: It’s summer and it’s hot! ☀️ Students are encouraged to bring a personal water bottle each day.
