Guided by an experienced instructor, students will work through engaging projects, supported by AI tools that help them debug, brainstorm, and learn independently. This approach teaches both coding fundamentals and the skills needed to collaborate with modern technology. By the end of the course, each student will have gained a solid foundation in Python, confidence in problem-solving, and an understanding of how AI can be a powerful learning partner.

You Don't Know Jack! Get ready to stomp, pluck, and holler—because this fall, June Bug Center's teen theatre program is bringing Appalachian legend to life. You Don't Know Jack is an original one-act musical born right here in Southwest Virginia—written by Jeff McCoy and his students at Pulaski County High School, and a Virginia State One-Act Competition winner. Built on the beloved Jack Tales of Appalachian folklore, this show is rowdy, rootsy, and made for Floyd County. And the best part? This one's got a live band. Teen musicians are invited to join the cast and bring the bluegrass heart of the show to life from the stage. Whether you're a performer, a picker, or both—there's a place for you in this production. Each student will use their computer to go on Minecraft missions that will teach them how to build circuits that control LEDs, buzzers, and a variety of sensors. Held every Monday from 3:30 to 5:30, this upbeat and welcoming class introduces students ages 8–14 to the foundational techniques of ballet while adding the fun and flair of jazz choreography. Whether your dancer is brand new or has a little experience, this class is perfect for building confidence, coordination, and creativity. Students will learn proper ballet vocabulary, posture, and technique alongside the energetic rhythms and expressive movements of jazz. Our supportive environment encourages self-esteem, teamwork, and a strong work ethic—all while making new friends and having fun! Dress Code: Snug-fitting athletic clothing is recommended. Ballet or jazz shoes are encouraged but not required. Hair should be pulled back into a ponytail or bun to help dancers stay focused. Held every Monday from 3:30-5:30, students will dive into the world of Dungeons & Dragons for an adventure that's entirely their own. Together, the group will build a shared world from scratch — drawing maps, inventing towns and landscapes, and deciding what kinds of creatures and cultures live there. Each student will create a character who calls that world home, writing their backstory and defining their look before stepping into the game. Once the adventure begins, students will embody their characters through roleplay and improvisation, working together to face challenges, make choices, and see where the story goes. Gadget Lab sparks curiosity and creativity through hands-on electronics, sensors, and programming. In this electrifying class, students discover how microcontrollers bring gadgets to life—from blinking LEDs and buzzers to temperature sensors, motion detectors, and distance sensors. Students build real, working circuits and write code that makes their gadgets react to the world around them. Along the way, they'll uncover how everyday smart devices connect through the Internet of Things (IoT)—the invisible network that makes our homes, classrooms, and cities smarter. Students will code using PictoBlox, a beginner-friendly visual platform, and level up into Python, one of the most powerful and in-demand programming languages on the planet. Gadget Lab is where engineering, electronics, and creativity collide—giving students hands-on skills they can actually use. For students aged 11 years old to 18 years old. Stay in the loop! Broadway for kids is designed for theater-loving kids, ages 8-12, to develop their confidence, character and presentation skills through ensemble performance. Campers learn acting, scene study, improvisation, music theory, singing and dancing, while building self-esteem, teamwork skills, and creative potential. For students aged 8 years old to 12 years old. This camp includes a snack and all learning materials are provided. Please read our handbook carefully and understand all our policies.

Held every Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00, Computer Literacy for Adults is an After Work program for ages 18 and up. Does your computer sometimes intimidate you? Does it sometimes cause you to scratch your head? Does it sometimes even scare you? If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, we have a course that might interest you! The course will be conducted in an informal setting by two non-judgmental instructors. We will not adhere to a rigid syllabus but will cover such topics as: • A tour of the Windows 11 Desktop • Using the File Explorer to organize your photos, music, and documents • Choosing and using a browser • Becoming comfortable with email • Using your home wireless and wireless hotspots • Staying safe online • Getting the most out of search engines • Understanding and working with documents, spreadsheets, and presentations • Choosing and buying a computer If these topics pique your interest, who not consider joining us as we explore them together?
